The performance and economy of GREIF rough grinding machines are unsurpassed

Infinitely variable drive (type S)

The stepless wide V-belt drive, which has already proven itself in the past under average power requirements, is characterized by its great economy and has now been newly developed and designed for high performance in rough foundry operations.

The trouble-free and maintenance-free drive is completely protected against dust by a sturdy sheet metal casing of the machine room with a wide foam interlayer.

The production benefits of this drive are immense:

  • Manual repositioning of the belts is no longer necessary. The speed of the grinding shaft is steplessly increased via a special mechanism by simply adjusting the protective hood. The non-productive times (manipulation times) are therefore very low.
  • The cutting speed remains constant at the permissible maximum of the grinding wheel and one 10% higher than the average speed of the step drive. The grinding wheel and machine are therefore optimally utilized.

The technical performance is documented by corresponding patents (valid until 1982), which were granted for the original conception of the continuously variable speed adjustment.
