More than just a “grinding jack”

Forced-closing, two-part protective hoods with constant opening angle of 55°!

Consumption reduces the diameter of each grinding wheel. The protective hood and workpiece support must then be readjusted, because the support should always be close to the grinding wheel (§ 9 Para. 2 VBC 7 n6). In the case of one-piece protective hoods, this increases the opening angle and the risk to the worker from flying sparks and dust increases accordingly.

GREiF-Technik is not content with the connection of an extraction unit and the attachment of a protective glass. On the contrary, GREIF also offers a tailor-made solution here: the positively guided closing, two-part protective hood with a constant opening angle.

The upper and lower parts of the protective hood are connected by a hinge and each is additionally guided in its own groove in the protective hood holder. These grooves do not run parallel to each other, but converge towards each other, thus causing the upper and lower parts to close in a scissor-like manner. The extraction performance is not impaired by increasing extraneous air.
